Overview

Bhrigu Lake is a high altitude lake located at a height of 14,000 ft. In the state of Himachal Pradesh. About 6 Kms from the Gulaba Base, Bhrigu Lake can literally be called ‘paradise on earth’. This little lake is nestled in the lap of nature and is surrounded by snow capped mountains. This place is charming enough to attract tourists throughout the year. According to Hindu mythology, this is the place where Maharishi Bhrigu sat in deep meditation and that is how the lake got its name. When the summer season starts, there are green and blue ice rings formed around the circumference of the lake. During late summer, it turns completely into a blue lagoon.

The trek to Bhrigu lake is one of the most sought after treks in India which is frequently toured by both beginners as well as experienced hikers. The 3-days trek starts from Gulaba from where you will trek to Rola Kholi, the base of Bhrigu lake, which takes approximately 4-5 hours.

Reach Manali early morning and then take a 2 hours’ drive to Gulaba which is 22 kms away. Arrive at the pick up point on time as a tight schedule will be maintained. After reaching Gulaba, lunch will be provided and then you will proceed further. While on the trek, you will come across some notable peaks rising from the Beas Kund. Valley like Mt. Hanuman Tibba, the Seven Sisters and Shitidhar peaks. A very important thing to keep in mind is to carry lots and lots of water since there are little chances of finding any water sources before you get to Kolang Nallah which is approximately 3-4 hours away. After crossing Kolang Nallah, we will provide you with some evening snacks and then continue with our hike for another couple of hours to reach Rola Kholi campsite. This campsite has a pleasing view with mountain ranges on 3 sides and water stream flowing nearby. Have dinner and take rest here for the night before starting for the next day.
